The Islanders wore special patches commemorating their final season at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. They'll be moving to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn for the 2015-16 season. Of course, it would not be an Islanders patch without symbolism of four Stanley Cups. Also, for the Islanders' last home game ever at Nassau Coliseum, they wore orange numbers trimmed in white, just as they had worn on their blue jerseys in their inaugural season of 1972-73. It was originally speculated that they were going to go nameless for their regular season finale, in which they lost to the Blue Jackets, 5-4 in a shootout. But they ended up wearing names on those jerseys -- plain white letters with no trim. Other than the change in name/number treatment, the rest of the uniform was identical to their regular home uniforms.
